Inconsistent Spray Distribution
Spray nozzle is clogged- Remove the nozzle
- Clean it with warm soapy water (releases any particles that might be stuck)
- Check stain application instructions (sometimes the only way to apply is with a brush)
- Contact the stain manufacturer to determine if there is a way to thin the stain
- If not, either return sprayer to the store for a refund or look into renting a power sprayer
Sprayer Won't Spray
Sprayer is holding pressure but not spraying
Troubleshoot the shut-off handle after releasing pressure from the tank

Can't Close 1949 Lid
Lid doesn't fully close on the sprayer
- Put the pump back in the sprayer
- Lock the handle and turn to the left all the way until it stops
- At that point, the triangle piece should turn under the second lip

Piston collar could be dried out
- Lubricate the piston collar with a generous coating of petroleum jelly (Vaseline)
